How does it work? The BWT in soft water systems integrated, filled with ion-exchange column flows through "hard" water. Here dissolved in the water calcium and magnesium ions are removed, thus softening the water. During the regeneration the ion exchange material is cleaned with a mild saline solution, so that the calcium and magnesium ions released again and can be derived with the rinse water.
